JOHN BURT (Boston, 1692-1745) RARE EARLY AMERICAN COIN SILVER CREAM POT. Of delicate bulbous form, applied with an angular scrolled handle raised on three cabriole legs with faceted feet. The initials “LW” engraved on the handle, “D” within a cartouche on the front. Letters “S EW” beneath the pitcher. The hallmark of John Burt at center of bottom. Weight is 68gr. SIZE: 3-1/2″ h. CONDITION: With old repairs to handle at rim and dents throughout. Consignor states that this piece was repaired by Gebbelein Silversmiths and examined by the Museum of Fine Art, Boston, Mass.
