OUTSTANDING SCHOOLGIRL MAP “PROJECTED BY ELIZA JANE BENNOCH” AGED 10. Circa 1832, Orono, Maine. This wonderful pen and ink schoolgirl map depicting the upper New England states of Maine through Connecticut bordered by the areas of Lower Canada and New York and titled “NEW ENGLAND”. Housed within a mahogany veneered frame of the period. Eliza Jane Bennoch, born 1822, died 1836 of Orono, Maine was the daughter of Lucretia and John, Esq. Bennoch of Orono. SIZE: Sight 15-5/8″ x 15-1/4″. CONDITION: Map retains clear lettering throughout. There is some discoloration or foxing throughout the center of the map with some water staining along the outer borders, noted especially along the base.
