RARE AND FINE CHESTER COUNTY QUEEN ANNE CHERRY OCTORARA TALL CHEST. Mid 18th Century, Pennsylvania. This fine example with cove molded cornice joined to the dovetailed rectangular case fitted with an arrangement of three aligned short drawers over a pair of aligned drawers over four graduated long drawers all with thumb molded edges flanked by engaged fluted quarter columns on a molded base. The bottom of the chest raised on two pair of short cabriole legs with scrolled pierced returns on carved spade feet with molded ankles. Each pair of legs joined by a dovetailed frame joined to the case by a flange joined by a wedge. SIZE: 66″ h x 30-1/2″ w of case, 41-1/2″ w overall x 22-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Chest with cleaned surfaces, brass hardware of the period but not original to the chest. Legs original as are backboards. Overall very good. 9-25028 (5,000-8,000)
