NEW ENGLAND QUEEN ANNE HIGHBOY. Last quarter 18th century, probably Massachusetts. Comprised of birch, maple and pine. In two parts, the upper rectangular case with cove molded cornice fitted with five long graduated thumb molded drawers fitted to the lower case with molded waste having a narrow long drawer over three aligned short drawers, the centermost with carved and turned roundel. Each drawer with thumb molded edges above a shaped and scalloped apron with central foliate pendant raised on bandy cabriole legs terminating in platform pad feet. SIZE: 72″ h x 20″d. 34″ case w. 39″ overall w. PROVENANCE: From a fine Western Massachusetts home. CONDITION: Structurally very good. No restorations noted. Surfaces have been overly cleaned, polish mostly removed. 9-29378 (800-1,200)
