QUEEN ANNE CARVED WALNUT BIBLE BOX ON STAND. Mid 18th century. The rectangular box with hinged lid and breadboard ends carved and decorated overall with pinwheel rondels, flowerheads and scrolling leaftips, fitted to a table frame with molded edge, having a single long frieze drawer similarly carved. The stand raised on tapering cylindrical frontal legs terminating in pad feet, the rear legs square with single chamfered inner edge. The box now fitted with a later removable tray. SIZE: 27″ h overall x 28-1/4″ l x 19″ d. Box: 7″ h x 28-1/2″ l x 18-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Very good overall with some professional restoration to lid, hardware antique but not original.
