GALLE MOLD BLOWN VASE LUMINAIRE. Very interesting Galle mold blown vase features pink and amber mold blown tulips with dark amber stems and leaves set against a frosted yellow background. Vase is drilled in the bottom and mounted with a single socket and brass or bronze floral foot. Vase is signed on the side in cameo “Galle” and the bronze foot is stamped on the underside “Made in France” and “Ovington New York”. While it is quite often assumed that vase forms converted to luminaires were done after market. The fact that the bronze foot is stamped Made in France and also carries the Ovington New York stamp would be a strong indication that this was made by Galle for the Ovington firm in the period.
