RARE & EXCEPTIONAL 17th CENTURY GERMAN ENGRAVED BRASS AND SILVER TABLE CLOCK. Engraved brass and silvered table clock engraved “Gottfried Kruger” on the bottom plate of movement. Hexagonal case with stepped molded edge inset with silver dial engraved with Roman numeral chapter ring within an Arabic chapter ring. Each side mounted with glass panel beneath a row of colonnettes. Case raised on turned suppressed ball feet. Rare example striking the hours and quarters on two bells situated within the gallery. With mock pendulum and fusee chain movement with verge escapement. Piece accompanied by custom made hexagonal display case. SIZE: 4″ h x 6-1/4″ dia overall. CONDITION: Case appears very good overall showing minor wear commensurate with age. Professional and proper restoration has been undergone over time including replacement of winding gear, etc. Movement appears clean and intact and is accompanied by old reproduction key. Red fabric liner behind balustrade partially absent. Otherwise very good overall. 9-24817 (5,000-8,000)
