WILLIAM HOWARD YORKE (British, 1847-1921) PORTRAIT OF THE SHIP KESWICK. Outstanding oil on canvas ship portrait shows the Keswick sailing right to left with low sails up flying British flag and other flags at back mast. The three mast black hulled ship having four figures on deck. A similar three mast vessel is seen traveling left to right off the bow. Choppy white tipped green ocean under blue sky with pink shaded clouds and gray clouds in corner. Signed lower right “W. H. Yorke L. Pool 1884″. Housed in a fine modern antique style carved and gilt frame. SIZE: 24″ x 36”. CONDITION: Relined, inpainting, very good. 9-98214 (10,000-15,000)
