SEMI ANTIQUE AFSHAR ORIENTAL RUG, SOUTH PERSIA. First quarter 20th century. This fine example of small scale design with repeating rows of stylized floral filled urns each flanked by birds all on ivory field. Brick red main border with meandering floral vinery flanked by sawtooth and olive green floral guard borders. SIZE: 4’10” x 6’11”. PROVENANCE: From a fine New Jersey home. CONDITION: With even overall wear, with professional rewoven repairs at corners, salvage good, end fringe later replacements. 9-24558 (2,000-3,000)
