*WONDERFUL COLT 1ST GENERATION SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. SN 351819. Cal. 45 Colt. Nickel finish with 4-3/4″ bbl, full front sight and 2-line address with caliber marking on left side. Left side of frame had 2-line, 3-patent dates and Rampant Colt. It is mounted with beautiful, 2-pc pearl grips with a deep-relief carved ox head on the right side and with silver Colt medallions. SN was observed on the bottom of the frame and right side of front and back straps under the grip. Cylinder is properly unmarked. Accompanied by an original Colt, dark maroon, hinged-lid box with blue and white end label for 4-3/4″ .45 “Colt’s Army S.A. Revolver.” With a small red printed over label “PEARL NICKEL”. Inside the box contains an orig “special instructions” pamplhlet. Also accompanied by a Colt factory letter which identifies this revolver in caliber 45 Colt with 4-3/4″ bbl, nickel finish, pearl stocks and sold to Stauffer, Eshleman & Co, New Orleans, LA and shipped to Martin Moore Co, (address unavailable) with date of shipment May 28, 1928. Under remarks it is stated “records do not indicate carved steer heard pearl stocks”. Letter also states that this was on Colt factory order 14827/1. An exceptionally fine, untouched Colt single action. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all matching except cyl which is properly unnumbered and grips which are also unnumbered. Overall retains all of its original factory nickel finish with only two or three tiny nicks on the left top edge of the front sight and a tiny loss of finish on the right rear of the butt strap and a tiny bubbled area by the left heel, neither of which are detracting. Appears to be completely unfired with only a very faint cyl line. Mechanics are crisp. Brilliant shiny bore. Box has some repaired corners with tape on the left rear corner of the lid and a hole on the back side with worn edges and corners. Label is intact with a couple of chips in the edges, not affecting the lettering, otherwise the box is fine. 4-40913 JR273 (7,000-12,000)
