SEMI-ANTIQUE KAZAK RUG. First quarter 20th century, Central Caucasus. Central hexagonal cream medallion within a stepped rectangular field with rows of geometric medallions. The brick red main border with a row of octagonal crab filled medallions within multiple geometric guard borders. SIZE: 5’9″ x 3’4″. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine and New York private collection. CONDITION: Rug remains solid with even minor wear overall. Losses to fringe. Small areas of weakness to selvedge. Otherwise good. 9-29900 (700-900)
