RARE MARTIALLY MARKED REMINGTON BEALS ARMY PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Perc. SN 1050. Blued finish, 8” oct bbl with standard markings, dovetail cone front sight, silver plated brass triggerguard, casehardened hammer, & 2-pc smooth walnut grips with “CGC” cartouche on left grip & “W.A.T.” in oval cartouche on right grip. Inspector marks on bbl, frame, loading lever, triggerguard & cylinder. Consignor’s research indicates that this revolver, circa 1862, is one of 750 martially inspected & purchased by the Army and used early in the Civil War. It is extremely rare and probably no more than 100 exist today so marked. Total production was only around 1900. CONDITION: Fair. Found in the white; current finish added including the heat applied “casehardening” on the hammer. Mechanically good. Lightly pitted bore 4-59370 JH134 (6,000-10,000)
