HENRY FRANCOIS FARNY (American, 1847-1916) INDIAN ENCAMPMENT. Gouache on paper laid on board western scene shows two tepees with mother, daughter and baby outside nearest tepee with a Brave seated beside the other. Beyond this family grouping are a number of tepees with poles and line setup drying skins. This is all seen on a flat desert with shrubs under a light blue sky. Unsigned. Housed in an antique gilt frame with front glass and artist plaque. SIZE: 4-3/4″ x 8-1/2″. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F W Woolworth Store); Purchased from Kennedy Galleries.
