AMERICAN FEDERAL GILTWOOD AND EGLOMISE BANJO CLOCK. Circa 1800, possibly Massachusetts. The enameled iron dial with Roman numeral chapter ring and time only aperture above the eglomise throat panel within a gilt surround, the throat flanked by brass fillets. The box base with hinged door and eglomise panel depicting phaeton and his chariot. The lower gilt bracket mounted with seven spherules above an acorn drop finial. SIZE: 40-1/2″ h overall x 10″ w x 4″ d. PROVENANCE: From the private collection and estate of Robert Nugent, Glenridge, New Jersey. CONDITION: Dial and lower eglomise glass panel appear original, throat glass may be later. Hands, movement, and dial all appear original. Case generally good, with some old repairs to proper left side of box base. 9-28236 (2,000-3,000)
