WILLIAM CRAWFORD CHERRY TALL CASE CLOCK. Last quarter 18th Century. Oakham, Massachusetts. The bonnet with arched molded cornice surmounted by three brass ball and spire finials on pediments centering pierced fretwork. The arched door flanked by free-standing colonettes with brass capitals and bases. Joined to the case, the throat with thumb-molded door flanked by engaged reeded and stop-fluted quarter columns with brass capitals and bases on a cove molded box base with shaped apron continuing to straight feet. The brass dial with Arabic and Roman numeral chapter rings centering a date aperture all within etched floral spandrels. The arch engraved “WM. CRAWFORD” within a roundel all withing scrolling vinery. The brass movement striking on bell. SIZE: 82-1/2″ h x 13-1/2″ w throat x 9-1/4″ d.
