PENNSYLVANIA WINDSOR SACK-BACK ARMCHAIR. Last quarter 18th century, possibly Lancaster County. The bowed crestrail with seven spindles joined to the medial rail continuing to scrolled knuckle hand grips above the oval shaped saddle seat raised on baluster-turned splayed legs joined by an H-form stretcher with bulbous turnings. SIZE: 37-1/2″ h of back x 16-1/4″ h of seat. PROVENANCE: From a Southern Maine private collection. Philip H. Bradley Co. Antiques, Downingtown, Pennsylvania. CONDITION: Retains all original elements, original and old surfaces removed and/or cleaned. Chair recently tightened and repolished. Generally good. 9-29404 (1,000-2,000)
