GALLE FRENCH CAMEO AQUATIC VASE. Underwater scene depicts seaweed which is cameo and intaglio carved in several layers. This decoration is set against every shade of green imaginable. There are also trapped bubbles in the making which are part of the decoration depicting bubbles produced by the seaweed. Hints of silver and gold mica can be seen throughout. The lower third of the vase has been firepolished. Elaborate “Galle” signature to side of vase. SIZE: 7-3/4″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-66067 (4,000-6,000)
