CHARLES LOOFF INNER ROW STANDING HORSE. Circa 1900. This nice example with professionally repainted surfaces. The cream-colored horse with gray painted mane, glass eyes, bridle with mirror jewel joining headstall to chin strap, fitted with blue saddle, the horsehair tail in shades of white and gray. Also with stirrups attached to body with brass rings. Charles Looff at Coney Island, New York, 1876-1910. SIZE: 52″ h. x 48″ l. PROVENANCE: Purchased at a Guernsey’s Auction sale, New York, New York, in 1980. CONDITION: Structurally very good, with no restoration or weaknesses. Minor and minimal shrinkage cracks at seams and at knots. 9-99635 (4,000-5,000)
