EDWARD LOYAL FIELD (American, NY, 1856-1914) PASTURELAND UPSTATE NEW YORK. Oil on heavy paper fall pasture scene with rolling hills. Most likely a Catskills or Hudson River Valley scene, probably from the 1880’s or 1890’s. Signed “E. L. Field” lower right. Housed in a reproduction antique-style gilt gesso frame. Ex the Estate of E. L. Field, (Tovar collection number 20). Field studied in France under Carolus-Duran. After returning to the U.S., he became a full member of New York’s prestigious Salmagundi Club. SIZE: 8” h x 10” w. CONDITION: Very good. 9-71867 (1,250-1,750)
