TWO GEORGIAN CARVED UPHOLSTERED ARMCHAIRS. Second half 18th century, England. The first a mahogany wing chair with rectangular back flanked by ogival wings continuing to rolled arms on incurved outscrolled supports raised on cabriole legs with scrolling returns terminating in pad feet. The second a mahogany “club” chair with arched crestrail above the curved back continuing to outscrolled arms with foliate carved incurved supports continuing to a hand grip carved with flowerhead centering an overupholstered seat with cushion raised on foliate carved cabriole legs terminating in spoon pad feet, the rear legs backswept with scrolled returns. SIZE: 44″ h x 32″ w. 31-1/2″ h x 29″ w. CONDITION: Mahogany surfaces with original finish. Both covered in cream floral brocade with minor and minimal soiling.
