OUTSTANDING EARLY SILVER CHATELAINE. The large chatelaine hook hallmarked “R.S.” and having a relief decoration of angel blowing a horn surrounded by C-Scrolls and a ship is in the background. Four rings holding chained items including: 4-3/4″ covered case having a decoration on each side of a figure in an alcove, maker’s hallmark illegible; 2″ dia. ball/rattle decorated with different panels including pot of flowers, table with bottle, stein, beaker & wine glass along with other smaller cartouches, one dated 1756; 4″ needle case with interior needle case holding a needle having maker’s mark “CS” with raised decoration of figures & C-scrolls; 5″ pair of scissors; 3″ heart shaped hinged box having repousse urn of flowers with two birds on each side. SIZE: 23″ l of longest. CONDITION: Very good, some dents in ball. 9-20788 (2,000-4,000)
