NORTH MODEL 1819 FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 54. Fine Simeon North pistol with 10-1/8″ rnd bbl, brass front sight and fixed rear sight integral with the top tang. Lockplate has standard markings and the date “1821”. Bottom of bbl, at the muzzle, has an attached captive swivel rammer. Mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with iron furniture and a sgl band. Left side flat has a sharp cartouche. Metal has a tinned finish for Naval issue in place of the browned finish usually found on these pistols. PROVENANCE: From a coastal New Jersey home. CONDITION: Very good. Metal retains about 75-85% orig tinned finish with the exposed areas bright metal. Stock has a crack above the lockplate and a hairline back of lockplate with a gouge near the forend tip and overall retains a smooth hand worn patina. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore. 9-24224 (2,000-4,000)
