PENNSYLVANIA CHIPPENDALE FIGURED MAPLE SPICE CHEST. Late 18th century. Probably Chester County. The rectangular cabinet with molded corners above the conforming case fitted with an astragal raised panel door opening to an interior fitted with four aligned short drawers above three aligned drawers over a pair of drawers above a single long drawer, on a cove-molded base raised on bracket feet with shaped returns. SIZE: h. 14-5/8″ x w. 11″ x d. 9-1/4″ CONDITION: The top with shrinkage crack and old professional repairs in area of corners, glue block replacement proper left side in area of feet additional repairs to proper left base molding. Overall very good with nice patina and old surfaces. 9-99555 (6,000-9,000)
