ANTHONY THIEME (American, 1888-1954) “ENTERING PORT”. Outstanding and colorful oil on canvas harbor scene shows a fishing schooner approaching a dock with tethered rowboat and another similar vessel with two rowboats at dock. A busy curving wharf with sixteen figures and having two multi-story buildings. All set under a light blue sky with seagulls. Several sails can be seen in the background and reflections are seen in the water. Signed in script bottom right “A Thieme”. Housed in a fine reproduction carved wood and gilt frame with gilt wood title and artist plaque. Titled on back of stretcher. SIZE: 25-1/4″ x 30-1/4″.
