NEW JERSEY FEDERAL INLAID CHERRY LINEN PRESS. Circa 1800, probably Bergen County. In two parts, the upper case with cove molded cornice above the molded frieze carved with aligned diamonds above a pair of cupboard doors, each with central inlaid urn within a patera. The interior fitted with two fixed shelves, fitted to the lower case within a molded frame. The case with two aligned short drawers, over three graduated long drawers, all with incised edges, raised on simple bracket feet. The shaped apron with central crescent. SIZE: 77-1/2″ h x 47″ w overall x 20-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Professionally re-polished. Hardware original. Proper left side of lower case with shrinkage crack, proper right rear foot replaced.
