EXCEPTIONALLY RARE CHIPPENDALE CHERRY AND TIGER MAPLE TEA TABLE. Third quarter, 18th century. Connecticut River Valley, Massachusetts. The single board top with scrolling, serpentine chamfered edge and turret corners. The boldly overhanging top joined to the rectangular base by its original wooden pegs, the apron with molded edge. Raised on square legs with beaded edge. The whole in old, black paint over original red paint. The top somewhat scrubbed, displaying a very old, worn varnished finish. The whole of original pegged construction. SIZE: 25″h x 27-1/4″l x 19-1/2″w. CONDITION: Very good, untouched with both original and old surfaces.
