ERIC SLOANE (American, 1910-1985) BOATHOUSE AT LAKE HOPATCONG. Oil on board shows large boathouse with moored sailboat. Small motor boat coming toward the boathouse with dog waiting to greet them. Signed lower right “Sloane”. Housed in a replacement gilt molded wood frame. PROVENANCE: Letter accompanies painting dated October 9th, 2002 from Dorothy Hinrichs who is Eric Sloane’s sister. She states she believes it was painted in the late 1930’s and that the painting is of their families summer boathouse on Lake Hopatcong. SIZE: 22” x 26”.
