BRASS TABLETOP FOLDING REFLECTING TELESCOPE SIGNED “S. (SAMUEL) JOHNSON, LUDGATE STREET, LONDON”. Late 18th century rod and screw side focus, folding tri-cabriole leg stand. Lens covers are present. Johnson was known to have worked near the west-end of St. Paul’s London. His trade card can be found at the Science museum collection London, England. SIZE: 15 1/2″ h x 21 3/4″ l.
