The central figure in foreground of a sperm whale rolling in the water, a large whaling ship in the background. Additional whaling boats with harpooners engaging whales in the background. All rendered on a pine plank, possibly a hatch cover. SIZE: 23-1/2″ h x 60-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: From a fine coastal Westerly, Rhode Island estate. CONDITION: Generally very good.
