JONATHAN HOTZ (American, 20th/21st Century) “TAPPING SUGAR MAPLES, VERMONT”. Oil on canvas winter scene shows two men next to a large maple tree. One is boring a tap hole at chest level, the other is preparing a bucket. The tree is on the edge of a bluff overlooking a river with hills. Signed lower right “Jonathan Hotz”. Housed in a modern gilt wood frame with linen liner. This painting was featured in an article in “The Cape Ann Summer Sun”, 8/24/90. It is a scene in Jeffersonville, Vermont. SIZE: 30″ x 30″. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ; Portland, ME. CONDITION: Very good. 9-96026 (2,000-4,000)
