This is Howe’s M 508. The critical contemporary account (in French and English) of the boundary dispute concerning what is now Maine and Eastern Canada. The ultimate resolution came with the conclusion of the French and Indian war. 4to, three quarter vellum. Woodcut decorative initial letters and head and tail pieces. CONDITION: Volume 1 quite loose in the case with the front free fly detached. Split to lower front hinge. Loss to small portion of the upper right margin of the title page. Loss to margins, 37-40. Occasional mispagination, but book collates to 771 pages. Second volume has become detached from the case. Missing the front free end paper(s), title and half title detached with marginal loss and tears to the title page. Occasional light foxing and mispagination. Book collates complete in 520 pages. Please note the Jeffery’s map is not present. Occasional chips, tears and loss to the margins of several pages. 9-25324 (1,500-2,500)
