With the book plate of Benjamin Lincoln Lear in each volume. WITH THE SIGNATURE OF TOBIAS LEAR TO TITLE PAGE OF VOLUME I. These books were previously owned by Benjamin’s father, Tobias Lear, and these beautiful Morocco bindings were probably commissioned in Spain and done at the time Lear was Consulate for Algiers during the Barbary Wars. CONDITION: In very good condition. 9-97993 (500-750)
