SHACKLETON, E.H. THE HEART OF THE ANTARCTIC. London; William Heinemann, 1909. COMPLETE IN ALL THREE VOLUMES. Volumes I & II (small folio) bound in gold stamped vellum. Copy 11 of 300. The third (folio) volume is bound in half vellum over boards and contains all 16 signatures of the participants in the 1907-1909 Expedition. CONDITION: Each volume has been collated and is complete with all color and black & white plates, portraits, & maps. Ribbon markers in the first two volumes are present and near perfect. The folding panorama on tissue is in “as issued” condition. The vellum remains clean & bright with the inevitable minor contraction of the crowns and small discoloration to tails.
