UNSIGNED (American, 19th century) PRIMITIVE HARBOR SCENE. Oil on wood panel, having a well-detailed folk art scene showing a large harbor with a lighthouse at mouth and opposite sloping hillside with houses, churches, and warehouses. Nine docked schooners in harbor and alongside warehouses with another entering harbor, following a steam paddleboat. All set under an early evening sunset. Housed in an early 20th century partially gilt wood frame. The original thin wood panel affixed to another panel. SIZE: Sight: 17-3/4″ x 24″. Overall: 21-1/2″ x 27-3/4 CONDITION: Minor surface abrasions, generally very good 9-29148 (1,500-2,500)
