RARE ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON “BABY RUSSIAN”, MODEL #2 FIRST TYPE SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER. Cal. 38 S&W. Gold and nickel finish, 4” keyhole ribbed bbl, engraved in New York style with about 65% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns, with foliate patterns between the flutes on the cylinder. Fitted with very bright 2-pc pearl grips. Frame is nickel plated. Cylinder, latch and latch screws are gold plated. SN 5528. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new. All matching including the grips which have the number, 28 scratched on each side. Appears to be unfired since being engraved and plated. Engraving is sharp and crisp with the cylinder and other gold appointments possibly redone. Hammer retains about 90% bright case colors. Trigger and gear pawl retain 50% thin blue.
