*VERY EARLY WINCHESTER MODEL 62 PUMP ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22S.L. or LR. Standard early 62 with 23” tapered round bbl, 3/4 magazine, ribbed bullet shaped forearm with straight stock and checkered steel buttplate. Standard open sights. SN 9951. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains about 90% thinning blue turning plum. The magazine tube is mostly a blue brown patina with good blue in sheltered areas. The receiver retains 92-93% strong bright original blue with some flaking on the right rear and light surface rust on the bottom. The top and bottom tangs are a blue brown. Wood is sound with the forearm retains 30-40% original varnish and is missing one of its screws. The stock retains 85-90% original varnish with numerous small surface nicks, scratches, and dings. Bbl has been counter bored about 2””from the muzzle with the balance bright and shiny and a light ring about 3” from the muzzle. 4-49362 JR28 (350-500)
