*KRIEGHOFF CROWN GRADE MODEL 32 4 BBL SET. Cal. 12, 20, 28 ga. and 410. SN 4280. This absolutely phenomenal set is equipped with 28” ventilated rib bbls with ivory front bead and brass center bead and typically open side ribs. With 12 ga bbls installed, this shotgun weighs 8.5 lbs. It has a beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with adjustable comb that is 14-1/2” over a white-line recoil pad with checkered side panels. It is equipped with single trigger and ejectors. The receiver has full-coverage game scene engraving with the left vignette being a pointer and a setter on point at two rising mallard ducks in heavy gold inlay all set in a woodland scene surrounded by Arabesque patterns. The vignette on the right side of the receiver depicts a fox looking to his left at two running and one flying pheasant, all in gold inlay set in a woodland scene surrounded by Arabesque patterns. The forend iron, trigger guard, top tang, lever and sides of the monoblock are Arabesque pattern engraved. The entire border of the receiver has a gold wire inlay. The belly of the receiver bears the Krieghoff logo crown and “Krieghoff/Model 32” in heavy gold inlay. The trigger and bbl selector are gold-plated as is the diamond shaped initial plate in the rosewood grip cap. The opening lever also has a smaller version of the Krieghoff logo crown in heavy gold inlay, as is the “S” at the safety. The engraving is signed at the lower left side of the receiver with the connected initials “AR”. The 12-ga bbls are chambered 2-3/4”, while the other three bbls are chambered 3”. All the bbls are numbered to the receiver with the date “12/69”. The set is accompanied by a fitted Nasco aluminum case. CONDITION: Excellent. Original retaining 99% of its original finishes showing little or no use. Possibly being unfired. Three small-bore bbls disclose minute rubbings to the sides indicating that they have been assembled only once or twice. The 12-ga bbls show slightly more mars to the surface. The wood is dark stained with high luster finish and appears new with no visible evidence of having been used. The case is excellent. 4-53631 (20,000-25,000)
