SCARCE PARKER BH GRADE DAMASCUS DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 57551. Built on a No. 1 frame with 30” damascus steel bbls choked MOD/MOD with sgl bead, tapered, concave, matted rib, doll’s head rib extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Mounted with highly figured, honey & chocolate, streaky, French or Circassian walnut with checkered, splinter forearm & rnd knob Prince of Wales stock with raised, checkered, carved, fleur-de-lis side panels, 14-1/2”, over a checkered, skeleton buttplate. Grip cap has an oval gold initial plate secured with six gold pins, engraved “FH”. Receiver is very nicely engraved with two pointers on left side, two setters on right side and two setters on floorplate and two birds in a tiny vignette at front edge of floorplate. Trigger guard has two pointers. Vignettes are all surrounded by fine, well-executed foliate arabesque patterns with braided border patterns. Fences have a sgl raised rib, “A” grade style, at back edges and are very nicely engraved with tight scrolls. Bore diameter: left – .750, right – .750. Bore restrictions: left – .029, right – .031. Wall thickness: left – .029, right – .029. Drop at heel: 2-5/8”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. Weight: 7 lbs. 9.28 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain virtually all of their beautiful, restored, Damascus patterns with some slight wear at muzzle edges. Muzzle end of bores have been cleaned a little. Receiver retains traces of case colors in sheltered areas, having faded to silver elsewhere, strong & bright on water table with strong colors on trigger plate & top tang. Wood is sound with some oil staining around receiver & forearm and retains virtually all of an extremely fine, professionally restored finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores with some orange peel roughness just in front of chambers with a couple of dents in right bbl. 4-59231 JR479 (5,000-8,000)
