*CASED HUSSEY DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 14410. Fine English full sidelock dbl with 28” bbls choked MOD/CYL with smooth, concave, tapered rib, sgl bead, dbl bite & receiver with dbl triggers. Rib is marked with maker’s name & address and a gold “1” with corresponding gold “1” on opening lever & forearm tip signifying that this was once part of a matched pair. Mounted with very highly figured, exhibition grade, checkered, Circassian walnut with splinter forearm & straight stock, 14-7/8” over a checkered butt. Bottom of stock has a gold initial plate engraved with a family crest. Receiver & lockplates are beautifully engraved in typical fine English style rose & scroll patterns with bouquets of flower blossoms on each lockplate, along with maker’s name. Fences also have bouquets of flower blossoms with another on trigger bow. All appended metal is engraved to match. Accompanied by a beautiful, maroon felt lined, oak & leather, trunk case with reproduction label in lid. Appears to be a C.S. Mfg. Co. product. Case is compartmented for complete shotgun with a 2-pc brass & wood cleaning rod, a pair of snap caps & nickeled square oil bottle with two covered compartments containing cleaning bits. It has its canvas & leather cover. Bore diameter: left – .734, right – .730. Bore restrictions: left – .016, right – .002. Wall thickness: left – .024, right – .027. Drop at heel: 2-1/4”, drop at comb: 1-1/4”. Weight: 6 lbs. 13.44 oz. CONDITION:: Very fine. Bbls, trigger guard & wood retain virtually all of a spectacular, professionally restored finish. Lockplates retain 75-80% strong orig case colors & receiver case colors, mostly in sheltered areas, with balance turned silver. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bores.
