FINE WINCHESTER CABINET RADIO. Appears to be 1920’s, built in a veneered cabinet 23-3/4″ long by 14-1/2″ wide by 10-1/2″ high. It has a hinged lid with decorative front corners and light dentil work around the front edges. The center has a very decorative brass plate with the Winchester logo in the center, three bakelight knobs, a toggle switch and an opening for the dial. Opening the lid discloses nine large vacuum tubes, three power supplies and a four-bank tuner. It is accompanied by its original separate speaker built into a matching cabinet and an original pair of Cannon-Ball brand headphones. Consignor states that it is in working order. CONDITION: Very good, the cabinet is a little dry with some finish losses on the front and wear on the brass plate around a couple of the knobs. The lid retains about 50% of its original varnish. The speaker grill is missing a small piece of wood and has a small damage to the cloth, otherwise it appears complete and retains about 75% of its original varnish. The headphones have some old paper tape around one ear piece. 4-53343 JR940 (2,000-4,000)
