*FABULOUS CASED PAIR OF HOLLAND & HOLLAND ROYAL EJECTOR DBL BBL SHOTGUNS. Cal. 20 ga. Both shotguns are identical in bbl length & configuration with 27” bbls with sgl beads, swamped smooth concave ribs, engraved “THE ROYAL” with maker’s name on right bbls & address on left bbls. They have dbl chopper lumps with ejectors & sgl non-selective triggers. They have assisted opening. Interior of lockplates & cocking arms are gold washed & inside bottom edge of lockplate are marked “JOSEPH BRAZIER / ASHES”. Breech end of ribs are engraved to match receiver with a fine border pattern on bbls. Receivers have full coverage, intricately entwined, foliate arabesque patterns with maker’s name on each lockplate & “THE ROYAL MODEL” on bottoms. Lockplates & inside of reinforcing ribs have beautiful border patterns with a dbl circle of latchkey patterns around hinge pin with a blossom in center. Lockplates are hand detachable & have a gold line cocked indicator. Fences have a fine raised rib around back edges. Opening levers, forend tips & breech end of ribs are inlaid in gold “1” & “2” respectively. It also has “SAFE” in gold on top tangs as well as serial numbers on bottom tangs. Trigger bows have intertwined initials “MS” in gold. These initials are for the consignor’s mother for whom the shotguns were made. Both are mounted with very highly figured marble cake honey & chocolate Circassian or French walnut with checkered splinter forearms & straight stocks with raised teardrop side panels, 14” over checkered butts. Accompanied by their orig tan leather, maroon felt lined motor case with orig label inside lid & orig canvas & leather covering. Case & cover are in fine condition. 1) SN 40081. Choked MOD/MOD. Drop at heel: 2-1/8”, drop at comb: 1-7/16”. Bore restrictions: left – .021, right – .021. Wall thickness: left – .023, right – .023. Bore diameter: left – .675, right – .674. Weight: 5 lbs. 8.96 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain about 80% glossy, bright, orig factory blue, thinned on sides, over chamber & forearm areas. Receiver & lockplates retain most of their muted orig case colors with reinforcing ribs & sides of fences turned silver. Trigger guard retains most of its orig factory blue, slightly thinned on tang. Wood is sound with minor handling & storage marks and retains most of its orig oil finish showing light to moderate checkering wear. This stock is slightly different in look from #2 and could possibly be a Holland replacement. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. 2) SN 40082. Choked MOD/MOD. Drop at heel: 2-1/8”, drop at comb: 1-9/16”. Bore restrictions: left – .020, right – .018. Wall thickness: left – .023, right – .022. Bore diameter: left – .675, right – .675. Weight: 5 lbs. 8.64 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain about 80% glossy, bright, orig factory blue, thinned on sides over chamber & forearm areas with worn areas on sides of both muzzles. Receiver & lockplates retain most of their muted orig case colors with reinforcing ribs & sides of fences turned silver. Trigger guard retains most of its orig factory blue, thinned on tang. Bbls show slight play when mounted. Stock has a tiny hairline back of top tang, otherwise wood is sound showing moderate wear with a couple of chipped diamonds & retains most of its cleaned orig oil finish. Edge of butt & checkering on butt show moderate to heavy wear. Obviously this is the shotgun that was hunted the most. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores.
