DESIRABLE DAK (AFRIKA KORPS) LOT. 1) First-model cloth-covered cork Pith helmet with two aluminum shields, one in National colors and one Army eagle. Size 57. Finished in brown leather which is seen on Luftwaffe examples of this helmet. Close inspection reveals that the helmet was manufactured with the Luftwaffe eagle on the left as indicated by two widely spaced holes for its attachment. CONDITION: Overall very good. 2) M40 steel helmet with orig liner and RB numbered chinstrap. This correct tan colored combat field helmet of the 21st Panzer Corps unit is with correctly painted emblem and correct Balkan Cross. CONDITION: Paint heavily scratched, with worn liner. 3) Officer’s model tropical belt with ink maker mark and dated on the inner belt near the buckle attachment. CONDITION: Very fine. 4) Third-model tropical tunic with straight unpleated pockets. RB number and sizes appear in ink in the interior. The collar litzen and shoulder boards are of the period, as is the breast eagle, but which seldom appears on an Afrika Korps tunic. The Iron Cross 1st Class is marked L/54, includes the Panzer skulls on the lapels. CONDITION: Very good. 4-60330 (8,000-12,000)
