RARE CASED HIMMLER PRESENTATION DAGGER.

RARE CASED HIMMLER PRESENTATION DAGGER. Standard SS dagger with 8-5/8″ spear point blade, marked on one side with the RZM and “36” date with Himmler’s presentation, and the other side has usual “SS” inscription “Meine Ehre heist Treue”. It has a black handle with oak leaf and acorn decorated hand guard and pommel with the Nazi eagle in the center and “SS” runes near the top. It is accompanied by its black metal sheath also with oak leaf & acorn throat and tip with a hangar ring on the side of the throat. It is further accompanied by an orig black leather covered, red satin-lined, presentation case with depressions for the dagger and sheath. There is an Iron Cross in the bottom and four cuff bands in the lid. Three of these are inscribed in silver bullion thread “Hohenstaufen”, Prinz Eugen” and “Florian Geyer” and the fourth has only the SS Death’s head. On the left end, inside the lid, is an SS Death’s head patch and on the right side is a Nazi eagle with an SS Death’s head below. In the center is a dbl circle with white SS runes in the middle. Additionally accompanied by a red felt lined wooden box, 15″ x 8-1/2″ x 1-7/8″, retrofitted for a long bbl Luger pistol, a spare magazine, holes for 6 cartridges, a Luger tool, 2 coins and a Luger board stock. The only items present are the stock and 2 coins. Inside the lid is a black felt shape of an Imperial eagle and an Iron Cross. CONDITION: Knife blade appears to be authentic while the handle, hand guard, pommel cap and sheath may not be authentic. Blade has fine pitting over much of the point half. Lid of the case is detached, but appears that it might be repaired without too much difficulty. Cuff bands appear authentic but are not guaranteed – nor are the patches.
