COLT BURGESS LEVER-ACTION RIFLE.

COLT BURGESS LEVER-ACTION RIFLE. Cal 44 WCF. SN 2574. Standard grade rifle with 25 1/2” oct bbl, full magazine, German silver Rocky Mountain front sights and original semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has uncheckered wood, a straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Good. Bbl retains 30-40% thin original blue, turning plum and silver elsewhere. Magazine tube is a plum brown patina. Receiver has traces of original blue in the sheltered areas with a spot of moderate to heavy pitting on the left side. Lever retains traces of case colors. Stock is sound and retains a smooth oiled patina. Forearm shows moderate to heavy wear, is dark and oil-stained, has a crack by the left bbl channel and is missing a 2 3/4” x 1/4” sliver.
