*COLT PRE-WAR ACE SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. SN 4843. Second year production Ace (1932) with blue finish, 4-3/4” bbl, half moon thick front sight with orig adjustable rear sight. It has full checkered walnut grips with two orig 2-tone magazines, one in its original wrapper. It has usual markings on left side of slide with Colt “ACE” in a diamond on right side of slide. Accompanied by a copy of an article from June 1978 American Rifleman magazine about the Ace pistol. Also accompanied by a red felt lined wood box. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine, all original. Slide retains about 97-98% strong bright orig charcoal blue with some slight thinning at muzzle edge. Frame retains 95-97% bright orig charcoal blue with some slight thinning & patina on front strap with balance brilliant blue. Grips show light wear with a few chipped diamonds. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. One magazine shows very slight wear, retaining about all of its brilliant factory finish. The other magazine shows some slight scrapes on sides.
