*EARLY COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN 35375. Fine early 1911 built in 1913 with last patent date on slide “1911”. It has narrow front sight & rounded rear sight, correct for this early model, with large diamond checkered walnut grips. Left side of slide has Rampant Colt at rear edge & right side has usual “U.S. ARMY” markings. It has the Walter G. Penfield inspector mark on left side just above magazine release. It has an original 2-tone lanyard loop magazine. Bbl has orig parallel “H” proof & perpendicular “P” proof on bbl skirt. CONDITION: Very fine, all original. Slide retains about 95% glossy orig charcoal blue with some slight thinning around ejection port & a few light scratches on top. Frame retains about 90% glossy orig blue, thin on front strap & spring housing, strong & bright elsewhere. Grips show very light wear with one or two chipped diamonds. Bbl retains about 75% orig blue with bright shiny bore. Magazine retains about 85% of orig blue with dull white section. Mechanics are crisp.
