*NORTH AMERICAN ARMS MODEL 1911 A1. Cal. 45ACP. SN 58. This pistol is a restored example of the ultra rare North American Arms 1911 model 45 auto. There were only some 100 made, so even a restored version is still a prized possession. It is stamped “58” on the frame under the grip and on the slide (which is normally the correct position for a standard 1911 but is correct for North American Arms model 1911). The magazine appears to be a period Colt replacement. CONDITION: Pistol is 90% overall as restored. It has a strong bore, with some slight pitting in the grooves and there are no markings whatsoever on the bbl. The hammer shows no lacerations or checkering at all. The safety appears to be similar to if not a checkered WWI colt and the slide stop is a later replacement for it is grooved. All in all, this is a nice example of a pretty well non-existent gun. 4-58348 (5,000-12,000)
