*SPRINGFIELD 1898 KRAG BENICIA ARSENAULT REWORK CARBINE. Cal. 30-40. SN 456134. Standard carbine with 22″ round bbl that was cut from original rifle length with a 1903 front sight sleeve added. It has the standard military ladder rear sight and an original carbine stock with “1902” dated cartouche. It is accompanied by an original “1918” dated military leather sling. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new, retains virtually all of its fine original arsenal rework finish to both metal and wood. The handguard has a hairline at the upper edge, otherwise the wood is sound with beautiful oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore.
