*TWO LIMITED DELUXE EDITION AMERICAN HISTORICAL FOUNDATION COMMEMORATIVE WWII RIFLES. Both are American Historical Foundation Serial Number 8 of a total of 50 sets. 1) Springfield Armory M1 Garand. Cal. 30-06. SN 621415. Standard Garand in very nicely figured, checkered, custom wood. All metal is heavy gold plated with side of op rod etch-engraved “WORLD WAR II 50TH ANNIVERSARY M1 GARAND”. Receiver, forearm bands, sides of front sight, floorplate & trigger guard are nicely etch engraved. Right side of buttstock has a large gold & enamel medallion inscribed “AND VICTORY WILL BE OURS 1945” with a large eagle in center with “VICTORY” in a ribbon over its breast. Accompanied by its orig glass top, wine colored, velvet lined, walnut case and a military style sling with two gold plated 8-rd ammunition clips. Also accompanying is the American historical foundation booklet & papers. 2) Saginaw M1 Carbine. Cal. 30 Carbine. SN 3361288. Mounted in nicely figured, checkered walnut with all metal heavy gold plating with side of op rod etch-engraved “WORLD WAR II 50TH ANNIVERSARY M1 CARBINE”. Receiver, sides of front & rear sights & trigger guard are nicely etch engraved. Right side of buttstock has a large gold & enamel medallion inscribed identical to the M1 Garand above. Accompanied by its orig glass top wine colored, velvet lined, walnut case and a military style sling with one gold plated 20-rd ammunition magazine. Also accompanying is the American historical foundation booklet & papers. CONDITION: Both are new in their display cases, unfired and appear to be uncycled.
