*LOT OF TWO M1 GARANDS. Cal. 30. 1) H&R. SN 5544892. 24” bbl. A good example of a rebuilt H&R or would make an excellent shooter. Rifle retains most of its original parts including bbl, op-rod, front sight assembly and elevation knob. Stock appears to be orig, though heavily varnished. Accompanied by a foreign made sling. CONDITION: Rifle retains 95% or better of a refinish with the only significant finish loss being the gas cylinder. Bore is bright & shiny and should make for an excellent shooter. Stock is Springfield 1950’s vintage with “DOD” cartouche. Hand guards are also heavily varnished with a 2” crack on rear one, as well as 1/4” x 1/4” chip in rear hand guard. Mechanics are excellent. 2) Springfield Armory. SN 4231030. 24” bbl. Rifle is a nice example of a not too often found 4,000,000 vintage Garand, although rebuilt at some point in time. These 4,000,000 vintage Garands saw the brunt of the work in Korea thus making their survival rate rather low. Rifle appears to have all of the correct parts for its era including a replacement Marlin bbl dated “4-53”. Marlin was a legitimate sub contractor. Also has correct “SA” over “JLG” cartouche with crossed cannons. CONDITION: Rifle is in good overall condition showing finish wear to receiver and very slight pitting on op-rod. Bore is bright & shiny, stock has a couple of larger dings, one being approximately 1” x 1/4” on left hand side, underneath sight knob and the other being 3/4” x 1/4” underneath the nomenclature on the bbl. Other than that, wood is in excellent condition throughout. Mechanics are in excellent condition. 4-58239 BK4 (2,000-3,500)
